Comparing Fractions

Young mathematicians have been creating a conceptual understanding of fractions. We have talked about several different ways to compare fractions. We've created this chart to remind us of some of the ways to compare fractions.

How would you compare the following fractions:
  • Which is greater 2/3 or 7/8?
  • Which is greater 2/12 or 6/12?
  • Which is greater 1/10 or 1/4?
  • Which is greater 4/5 or 5/4?

(Leave us a comment with the answers!)

Knowing different ways to compare fractions can be very helpful!

Fractions are Fun! :)
